The Value of Antimicrobial Technology in Everyday Products

Having worked with companies in all manner of industries and of all sizes, we know the value of antimicrobial technology better than most.

Since 2000, Addmaster has worked with brand owners, manufacturers, business developers, marketers and more to create new selling points, creating product differentiation through the addition of our additives.

Antimicrobial additives add slight cost, more-than-likely pennies to your overheads. Instead you should think of the value that antimicrobial technology will add to your product; not what it will cost you, but what it will make you.

How Antimicrobial Technology Adds Value

Antimicrobial properties all have a similar end-goal, our silver-ion based antimicrobial technology will inhibit the growth of bacteria, but the reason for its addition, and therefore the value added, will be different for each type of product.

So let’s look at two Biomaster protected products - INSUL8ED wall paint from SCR and the Sangenic range of nappy bins from Tommee Tippee.

INSUL8ED Wall Paint

INSUL8ED wall paint is an emulsion launched by Suspended Ceiling Restoration Ltd earlier this year, featuring Biomaster product protection. While INSUL8ED emulsion is around the same price as any other high-quality emulsion, the differentiation of anti-mould, antibacterial and thermal* properties makes choosing it a no-brainer.

So there is added value in this paint for anyone looking to ward off mould growth or keep high levels of hygiene in their home. In addition, these properties open this paint up to use in care environments such as care homes and hospitals for its hygiene benefits and also for use in council / housing association homes in order to minimise maintenance.

Sangenic Nappy Bins

Biomaster is used in the Tommee Tippee Sangenic nappy bins, alongside Scentmaster. The addition of these two additive technologies helps to get rid of smells and germs when disposing of used nappies.

The use of Biomaster in this product will offer some anti-mould properties, but that’s not why it has been incorporated. Most people, hopefully everyone, will know that high levels of personal hygiene need to be maintained when caring for and cleaning up after a young child or baby. Tommee Tippee have designed this range to offer a hygienic disposal system to those that may not be able to take endless trips to an outside bin, for around the same price as any other nappy bin.
