Effectively managing contamination and mitigating cross-contamination stands as a fundamental imperative in any manufacturing process. Recognising this critical need, Biomaster technology emerges as a versatile solution that is easily incorporated into various materials, including plastic, textile, paper, paint, or coating.

Biomaster should be an integral component of the manufacturing process. By seamlessly integrating this advanced antimicrobial technology, manufacturers not only adhere to stringent hygiene standards but also elevate the overall hygiene of their products.

Biomaster is an indispensable asset in your manufacturing endeavours, reinforcing your commitment to uncompromising cleanliness and product integrity throughout the production cycle.

Antimicrobial technology for manufacturing

Outbreaks of harmful bacteria in clean room environments can have devastating effects on businesses if there’s a threat to productivity, product quality or a risk of recall.

Manufacturing environments in the food processing, pharmaceutical or packaging sectors should already have stringent hygiene protocols in place to reduce the cross-contamination of harmful microbes as part of HACCP systems.

Whilst this might enable short-term protection against harmful bacteria, incorporating antimicrobial cleaning products and antimicrobial product protection in clean room environments offers an additional ‘between-cleans’ protection from microbes.

Biomaster antimicrobial technology is used in thousands of clean rooms, critical areas and controlled industrial environments, in diverse industries from biomedical, electronic and optical to automotive, aerospace and transportation.

Our blue chip customers include: Sony, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola, Roche, IBM, Pfizer, Rolls Royce, Nestle, Intel, Nokia, Honda, BMW and Heinz.

Antimicrobial protection for cleanroom surfaces and benches

As some harmful bacteria can remain viable on surfaces such as workbenches or cabinets for days at a time, all measures should be taken to complement cleaning protocols.

Benches, work surfaces and castors can be treated with antimicrobial powder coating, whilst walls and ceilings treated with Biomaster antimicrobial paint help to inhibit the growth of harmful microbes.

On the floor, antimicrobial footwear and antimicrobial mats and flooring can all limit the risk of cross-contamination in key areas and reduce the risk of bacterial spread.

Antimicrobial protection for hygiene and cleaning products

Using contaminated equipment to clean your manufacturing environment will only spread germs and microbes to new areas, whilst some bacteria may remain viable even when the equipment is not in use.

Cleaning products such as brushes, squeegees, buckets and dustpans treated with Biomaster antimicrobial technology can inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria such as MRSA, E. coli, Listeria and Campylobacter.

The same technology can easily be added to PVC strip curtains for a fraction of the manufacturing cost, providing long lasting protection against harmful microbes and bacteria in any environment where hygiene control is important.

How Biomaster works

Biomaster can be added at any stage of the manufacturing process and is available in masterbatch, liquid or powder formulations for plastics, textiles, paper and coatings.

When bacteria come into contact with a Biomaster protected surface, the active antimicrobial agent prevents them from growing, producing energy or replicating, inhibiting any further growth.

The controlled release of the active ingredient provides powerful, effective antimicrobial protection for the lifetime of the product.
