Biomaster antibacterial cool bags shortlisted for top packaging award

A unique Biomaster protected Cool Bag has been shortlisted for a leading industry award after winning a host of new orders in Britain and Europe.

Launched in 2016 by Staffordshire-based B&G Products, the antibacterial Cool Bag is a reusable insulated shopping bag that can be used to transport frozen and chilled perishable food, safely.

The B&G antibacterial cool bag was shortlisted in the Packaging News ‘Flexible Plastic Pack’ category from a record number of entries by panellists representing the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Coca-Cola, Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.

The Cool Bag also recently went on sale in Morrisons in the UK (see pic left below) and in Spar in the Netherlands (see pic left above).

The bag is also now stocked by Trunet Packaging Services, a major supplier to the UK meat industry and butchers all over the country.

B&G manufactures two versions of the bag: a high performance three layer insulated version keeps food cool for approximately four hours, while a high tech 2-layer version keeps food cool for approximately 1.5 hours. The active antibacterial agent is built into the bag during the manufacturing process, so the product protection lasts for the useful lifetime of the bag.

B&G has also recently launched a handy lunch bag size version (shown in the main picture top) available in a range of designs or bespoke.

B&G Commercial Director Peter Ralten says: “ Our Cool Bags contain high performance technology that inhibits cross contamination from bacteria during shopping trips.

The stylish new insulated bags also have a fresh, newly updated design and feature a unique comfort clip close handle, also designed by B&G.”

The Packaging News award ceremony takes place in London on 22 November.
