Addmaster Managing Director Talks to the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
14 May 2010
Young Enterprise is a country wide organisation that works through volunteers to inspire young people from 14 to 18 to get involved in business through their School curriculum.
Every year teams of volunteers from the business community help local schools to develop businesses ideas, formulate business plans, then run actual businesses with management accounts with boards of Directors.
At the end of the year these businesses are then entered into a competition and judged by business leaders to find the best in their region.
Paul Morris, Managing Director of Addmaster has been involved with Young Enterprise now for 4 years and has spoken at Staffordshire’s Regional Finals and also helps local schools with their ideas. Last month Paul was invited to attend the Leicestershire Regional Finals to present the awards and give a talk on “what it takes to be an Entrepreneur”.
“Its always a real pleasure being involved with YE”, comments Paul, “as I’m always blown away by their passion and skill at such a young age and to think 16 year olds are writing business plans and running management accounts must bode well for our next generation of Entrepreneurs”.
Paul’s talk centred the core skills of passion, hard work and belief and included anecdotes of the various business leaders he has met, such as Richard Branson and Philip Green at business awards Addmaster have won. With his favourite piece of advice from billionaire Phillip Green “get up early - go to bed late”.
